Books in Bahamian dollars
- Choose the Bahamian dollar (or the US dollar) when you set up, and every invoice, bill and report is kept in it.
Your bank’s statements, read on your device
- Upload the statement your bank gives you, as a PDF or CSV, for a chequing account or a credit card. Zirano learns its layout once and reads the next one the same way.
- A PDF statement is read in your browser and is never uploaded. It’s checked against its opening and closing balances before anything is imported, and lines you’ve already imported are skipped.
- Live bank feeds aren’t available yet.
Your Bahamas VAT return, prepared
- Monthly or quarterly periods with their due dates, a return you can check line by line, and a record of each one you file. How Zirano prepares your VAT return.
- Not registered yet? Zirano shows your sales over the last 12 months against the BSD 100,000 registration threshold.
Zirano prepares VAT returns from your books. It does not give tax advice; confirm the figures before you file.
Moving from QuickBooks or Xero
- Import your chart of accounts and opening balances from a QuickBooks or Xero export, so you start where your old books left off.
Your accountant, in for free
- Invite your accountant or bookkeeper to your workspace as an admin, at no extra cost, and they get the accountant view, with the full trial balance.
Questions
Is Zirano only for Bahamian businesses?
No. Bank statements, invoices, bills, reports and Adam work for any small business. VAT returns are prepared for Bahamas VAT today.
Can I keep my books in US dollars?
Yes. Choose the US dollar when you set up your workspace. Each workspace keeps its books in one currency.
Does Zirano file my VAT return or give tax advice?
No to both. Zirano prepares the return from your books; you submit it to the Department of Inland Revenue yourself. For questions about what’s taxable or whether you need to register, ask the Department or your accountant.
